Kansetsu Waza

For participant safety and to ensure proper technique is developed, Judo should only be practiced under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

Kansetsu waza (Joint techniques) when fully applied are designed to separate the joint being attacked. The elbow joint is the only joint which may be attacked in randori (free practice or sparing) and shiaia (competition).
