Choosing a quality Martial Arts program is an important decision whether you are choosing for yourself or your child. All martial arts schools registered through Alaska Judo have a certified Judo instructor who is CPR & First Aid certified and who has passed a background screening.
Alaska Judo promotes and oversees the development of Judo programs, clinics and competitions for children and families throughout Alaska.
When selecting a martial arts program, here are a few things to consider:
Who will be teaching the classes?
Programs taught by black belts, who are certified instructors, are likely to provide the highest quality of instruction.
What is the environment like?
Ask to watch a class to get a feel of the culture in the school. Watch how the instructors interact with the students and how the students interact with each other. Different people like different environments, is the schools environment one you will enjoy participating in?
What are you paying for?
A clean safe place to train is important. Don't train anywhere that is not! However, high fees don't mean quality instruction, and low fees don't mean they are skimping on instruction. When comparing programs compare the benefits and drawbacks of each program. The fees charged will only be one of the benefits or drawbacks you will be considering.
