Dennis Dee High passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 8, 2023 in Anchorage, Alaska.  Dee started practicing judo while going to college in Idaho.  Upon arriving in Alaska in the 1970's, he joined the Anchorage School of Judo.  He was the founder of Mountain View Judo at the Mountain View Boys and Girls Club.  Dee attained the rank of Rokodan (sixth degree black belt), was a nationally certified referee, a nationally certified coach, and competed in the Master's division at the USA Judo National Level.  His numerous contributions to judo included support for judo practitioners, providing support to clubs, and a lot of support for the Alaska State Judo Championship Tournament.  In honor of his support for Judo, Alaska Judo Inc. has renamed the Alaska State Judo Tournament to the Dee High Memorial Alaska State Judo Tournament. 

Dee"s family requests any donations in Memory of Dee be made to Alaska Judo.
