Kodomo no Kata
For participant safety and to ensure proper technique is developed, Judo should only be practiced under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
Komodo no Kata means forms of children or forms for children. This kata was a formed from a collaborative effort between the Kodokan Judo Institute, the French Judo Federation, and the International Judo Federartion.
The Komodo no Kata is comprised of seven units. Each unit can be practiced independently, but the units as a whole form a progressive approach to teach the fundamentals of Judo. Each unit contains breakfalls (ukemi), movement (tai sabaki), throwing techniques (nage waza) and hold down techniques (oseakomi waza)
